Elena runs the newsroom's medical review process: the final-read clinician who signs off on any article that touches prescribing, dosing, or diagnosis. She still practices one day a week at a federally qualified health center in East Austin.
Her own writing focuses on the under-covered intersection of metabolic medicine and cardiology — the pieces that are not quite pharmacology and not quite clinical practice and would otherwise fall off the page.
